May 17, MONTREAL – Watch Out, a Montreal-based company with operations in Switzerland and Canada has launched an international first: an intelligent, autonomous, precision manufacturing solution driven by Artificial Intelligence. The revolutionary system, used for the production of precision parts for the aerospace, medical and luxury goods industry, is already at work for a global aerospace company. With over 25 years of experience in precision manufacturing and machine tool design, Watch Out has developed the new AI-driven system to help solve the problems of skilled workforce shortage and re-shoring. “Our system constantly collects data and pilots the end to end production of these crucial components,” explains WatchOut CEO and CTP Sébastien Laporte, adding: “it has a working memory of every part created, which translates to constant improvement 24/7, without the intervention of skilled human workers which has been necessary until now.” Watch Out currently boasts 70 employees and $30 million in sales in 2023, tripling its revenues in 2022. Laporte and his company settled in Québec from Switzerland in 2023, and with the backing of Investissement Québec and Economic Development Canada opened a first production facility, creating 17 new jobs so far. Watch Out has become a member of Aéro Montréal and partnered with MILA, contributing to Montreal’s collective strength in the Aeronautical and AI sectors. Bernard Mariette, the Founder of Quebec-based retail success Lölé, is Executive Chairman and CFO of Watch Out. “Sébastien and I have been friends for years,” Mariette explains, adding: “the data-driven AI process that drives our system can be truly transformational for industry as a whole.” Attendees at the Aéro Montreal show will get the chance to learn more about the system up close. In the coming days, important strategic partnership will also be unveiled.
